Do you have a severe and persistent toothache? Is there swelling in your gums? These could indicate an infection in your tooth, and combined with sensitivity, they may suggest a damaged Root Canal. The root canal is the inner part of the tooth, which contains the pulp, blood vessels, and nerves. A toothache occurs when there is an infection in the pulp.

This condition requires treatment, typically through Root Canal Treatment (RCT). RCT helps save the tooth, as well as other teeth, muscles, and gums, from further infection. Since this procedure treats the inner tissues of the tooth, it is also known as Endodontic Treatment and is carried out by specialists called Endodontists. The infected pulp is removed, and the space is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. It is then filled and sealed with a material that ensures the inner canal(s) of the damaged tooth are secure, preventing abscess formation. At our Root Canal Treatment Center, we offer various non-surgical and surgical painless Root Canal Treatments.

Root Canal Procedure

  • A proper and accurate evaluation of the oral cavity is done.
  • Then, local anesthesia will be given to numb the teeth area.
  • To keep the teeth area dry and maintain cleanliness, a dental dam is placed. It separates other teeth from the tooth that is undergoing Root Canal Treatment in Ahmedabad.
  • The endodontist will make an opening in the tooth and drill it to get access to the root and pulp.
  • The file is used to drill out the infection.
  • Once that is completed, an antimicrobial dental solution is used to disinfect the whole area, and later, the section is shaped.
  • The chamber(s) is filled with gutta-percha for permanent filling in the tooth.
  • After compressing it, a temporary sealing process is performed at the opening site.
  • A post may be inserted into the root’s chamber to facilitate restoration and support to the crown.
  • If the infection is major or the crown is needed, you will have to visit again. After a week or two’s time, in the next seating, the temporary filling is replaced with the permanent fitting of a crown.
